Alma L. Purcell, 87, recently of Plymouth, Massachusetts, died on March 19th. After a period of declining heatlh, she passed peacefully at home with her family by her side. She was the daughter of Arthur P. Lemay and Bernadette Lemay (nee Belanger) and the beloved wife of the late George A. Purcell. She is survived by daughters Elizabeth M. Purcell of Derry, NH, Patricia M. Purcell of Derry NH, Trina A. Purcell of Naples, FL, grandson Miles Fischer and brother and sister-in-law Jean and Joan Lemay of upstate NY. She was predeceased by daughter Cynthia J. Fischer (nee Purcell) and brother and sister-in-law Rock and Alice Lemay of Clearwater, FL.
Alma was creative, curious and competent in many areas from art to needlework to interior design and gardening. While living on Cape Cod, she developed a love of all things lighthouses. She fed this interest by taking classes, attending tours to explore their history and using the motif in her many craft projects. Her best friend of forty years, Jacquie, described her as "a wonderful person with whom she was lucky to have shared a friendship." Alma described herself as "a proud homemaker."
A private burial will be held in Manchester, NH where she will be interred with her beloved dog Chloe. She will be missed.
