Irene (Alves) Borden-Arruda, 85, of Dartmouth died Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was wife of the late Emerson A. Borden. Born in Fall River, she was daughter of the late John and Virginia (Moniz) Alves. Prior to retirement, she was a C.N.A. for several nursing homes in the area.
Survivors include 4 sons: Thomas E. Borden, Timothy E. Borden, David B. Borden and Paul E. Borden all of Westport; 4 daughters: Alice E. Magnin of NJ, Frances I. Butler of Westport, Mary Lou Borden of FL and Beverly A. Johnston of Fall River; 2 sisters: Mary Ringuette of FL and Dorothy McLaughlin of FL; a step-brother; 4 step-sisters; 17 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, April 4, 2014 at the Potter Funeral Home at 12:00 P.M.
Calling hours will be Friday from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. prior to the service.
Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
