Augusta, GA – Ethel Borden Story, went to meet her husband (Adam J. Story), brother (Kenneth Borden) and parents (Lowell and Veronica Borden) on March 30, 2014. Celebrating her life and wishing her happiness on her journey are her children, Stephen Story of Augusta, GA, and Burma Boyles Wilkins of South Portland, Maine.
Ethel had a joyful life experience on earth as owner of Burma’s Dress Shop and employment at International Paper. Born in New York City and raised in Miami, Florida, her connections to Cayman Islands, where her parents were born, gave her great pleasure in becoming an expert in building her family trees and documenting her connections to Cayman, Jamaica, and Maine. Her children describe their life as idyllic, examples of her and Adam’s dedication to family and friends.
Grandchildren, Heather and her husband Laddie Williams and daughter Piper of North Augusta, along with Travis Boyles Story of Augusta, Maine, will miss her wise guidance, loving care, and feisty spirit.
Her passing on earth was made as peaceful as possible by the caring staff at Trinity Hospital and her friends and physicians Danny and William Neumann. The family is thankful to them and their many friends, especially Opal and Beverly Belger and Emily Croft.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming WOO HOO, what a ride! You had a great ride, Ethel.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:30 PM until 7:00 PM on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at the funeral home.
