Obituary

Barbara B. (Berthiaume) Sanuth, 96, formerly of Hyde Park, MA, died March 29, 2014 at Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Meriden, CT on October 10, 1917 to Armand and Amalia (Patriski) Berthiaume. She lived in Hyde Park and Westwood, MA for many years before moving to New Hampshire in 2003.
Barbara’s calling was to the ministry of church and youth. She worked as the secretary at the Archdiocesan Chancery office, the Cardinal’s residence, as well as Most Precious Blood and St. Theresa’s Parish.
She was involved with the CYO, Chi Rho Society and Mater Dei Guild. She spent many years working with the youth of the church as a coach, advisor, substitute mother and guide as they went to dances, and on ski and swim trips, and hay rides. She continued this passion into her late years with her grandchildren and volunteering with the church.
Barbara’s favorite recreation was playing cards, bowling and rooting for the Red Sox.
She was predeceased by her husband, William J. Sanuth in 1992; a grandson, Thomas Sanuth in 2010; and her siblings, Walter, Althea (Raymond), Lauretta (Hoar) and Henry.
Her family includes two children, William Sanuth of Goffstown and Barbara Ann Sanuth of Bourne, MA; her grandchildren, Carl, Keith, Katie (McKerley) and Matthew; 10 great grandchildren and many other loving family members and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at St. Theresa of Avila Parish, 2078 Centre St., West Roxbury, MA. Committal prayers followed at Fairview Cemetery, 45 Fairview Ave., Hyde Park, MA.
