Obituary

WORCESTER-Mary E. (Hayes) Conlin, formerly of 134 Puritan Avenue died Saturday October 27th in Providence House Extended Care after an illness. Her husband of over 30 years James L. Conlin died in 1963. She leaves a son James L. Conlin, Jr. of Worcester; 2 daughters, Jane E. Wyman of Worcester and Maureen Farmer of Pepperhill; 7 grandchildren and a great grandson. 3 sisters Helen Hayes, Irene Sullivan and Margaret Hayes predeceased her.

She was born in Hudson daughter of Michael and Nellie (Nevins) Hayes and lived in Marlboro for many years before moving to Worcester. She was a graduate of Marlboro High School and St. Vincent School of Nursing. Mrs. Conlin had worked as a Nursing Supervisor at Lincoln Nursing Home for many years before retiring in 1970. She was a member of St. Stephen’s Church and the St. Vincent School of Nursing Alumna. She also was a former member of Our Lady of Loreto Church, a Past President of the Women’s Guild and Our Lady of Loreto Society and Leisure Club.

The funeral will be held Tuesday October 30th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue with a mass at 10:00 AM in St. Stephen’s Church, 357 Grafton Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday October 29th from 4:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. Please omit flowers.
