Obituary

LEICESTER: Joseph Reginald Brouillard, Sr. 81, of 510 Main St. in the Cherry Valley section of Leicester, died Monday, March 24 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester after a brief illness.

He was the husband of Edna M. (Paige) Brouillard who died in 1998. He leaves three sons; Joseph R. Brouillard, Jr. and his wife Cathy, Charles A. Brouillard and his fiancé Karen Salsman and Pierre L. Brouillard and his fiancé Elizabeth Goyette all of Cherry Valley, three daughters Debra A. Wilson and her husband Robert of Leicester, Jane M. Kay and her husband Douglas of Brookfield and Janine L. Papineau of Leicester, two brothers Roland Brouillard of Worcester and Ronald Brouillard and his wife Marion of Northbridge, three sisters Annette Boucher and her husband Ernest of Worcester, Mary Jane Lamanuzzi and her husband Leo of Upton and Loretta Steele of Worcester, 10 grandchildren; Jennifer, Aimee, Tiffany, Jillian, Amanda, Joe, Austin, Pierre, Jr., Megan and Ashley, and a great granddaughter; Lydia, many nieces and nephews.

Joe, also known to many of his longtime friends as Reggie, Frenchie or Louie, was a stockroom clerk for Ostrow Electric Co. in Worcester for 54 years, retiring in 1998. He loved gardening, his Model “A”, and most importantly his family meant everything to him. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, the Cherry Valley American Legion Post 443 (Past Historian) and the Rochdale VFW Post 7556.

Born in Worcester, he was the son of Emile and Lucia (Allard) Brouillard and later served his country during the Korean War with the U.S. Army 987th Field Artillery Division in Korea.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, March 29 from the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester with a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, 759 Main St., Leicester. Burial will follow in Cherry Valley Cemetery, Leicester with Military Honors. Calling hours are Friday from 4 to 7p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Cherry Valley American Legion Post Scholarship Fund, 167 Main St., Cherry Valley, MA. 01611.
