Obituary

OXFORD___Charles H. Greene, Jr., 68, of 13 Bartlett St., formerly of St. Nicholas Ave., Worcester, died Wednesday Oct. 27 in Blaire House of Worcester.

He was predeceased by his wife of 40 years, Rosemarie C. (Santo) Greene. He leaves a son, Charles H. Greene, III and his wife Kelly of Albany, Mo., a daughter, Charlene M. Cutroni and her husband, Michael of Oxford; four grandchildren, Joshua and Shannon Greene and Aleksandra and James Cutroni; a sister, Margaret Field of Leicester; nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by two brothers, Bernard and John Greene. He was born in Worcester, son of Charles H. Greene, Sr., and Mary (Johnson) Greene and lived in Worcester all of his life.

Mr. Greene was a postal clerk and before then a mail handler for the U.S. Postal Service at the main Worcester post office. He worked there 32 years retiring in 1999. He graduated from South High School and Clark University both in Worcester.

He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church, Worcester, the American Postal Workers Union and was a coach more than 30 years for the Tris Speaker Little League.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday Nov. 2 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., Worcester with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln St., Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Monday Nov. 1 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimers Disease Association, 36 Cameron Ave., Cambridge, 02140.
