John E. Mann, Jr "Jack", of Pembroke, passed away on March 24, 2014. He was 83 years old. Beloved husband of the late Marie V. Mann. Loving father of Doris Mann and his son in law Robert Morrisette Sr. of Pembroke, and the late Jane Marie Mann. Brother of Toddie Antoine, and the late James Mann. Cherished grandfather of Jane Marie Morrisette, Matthew Morrisette, and Bobby Morrisette, all of Pembroke. Jack also leaves his longtime friend, Herbie Wick, who enjoyed visiting with him, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Jack was born in New York, and raised in Quincy, He served in the United States Army, and is a Korean War veteran. He was a janitor for many years at the Town Hall in Pembroke. He was a rebel, and free spirit who took his Indian motorcycle across country, twice. Jack enjoyed sailing, and water sports on Oldham Pond. He had a blast, and cherished time with his grandaughter Jane.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, March 27th from 4-8:00 PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett St (Rt. 14) Pembroke. A funeral service will be held at the First Church of Pembroke, on Friday, March 28th at 10:00 AM. Jack will be laid to rest at the Center cemetery in Pembroke.
