Maria Joanna (Silva) Craveiro, age 85 of Somerset, passed away on March 23, 2014 at Charlton Memorial Hospital with her family by her side. Born in Farrope, Fenais da Luz, São Miguel, Açores, she was the wife of the late Americo Craveiro and the daughter of the late Francisco C. and Maria (Ferreira) Silva. Prior to retiring, Mrs. Craveiro worked as a Sewing Machine Operator for Essex Mfg. and previously for Pine Mfg. She was also a parishioner of St. John of God Church Somerset.
She is survived by her 2 children: Donna Marie (Craveiro) Medeiros and her husband Louis of Somerset, and Americo Craveiro Jr. and his wife Jori of Freetown; 4 grandchildren: Ryan & Kyle Medeiros both of Fall River and Kelsey & Cody Craveiro both of Freetown; 3 sisters: Mary Pavao, Daria & Gloria Marques all of Fall River. She was the sister of the late Manuel C. Silva.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on THURSDAY at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John of God Church at 9:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours WEDNESDAY 4-8 P.M.
