Obituary

BRATCHER, REBA MAE, 87, entered Heaven on March 22, 2014. Reba's greatest passion was her love for the Lord! She was a daily inspiration for the Gospel of Christ in each step of her life. She was a strong prayer warrior who guided everyone she met to the cross. She dedicated her life to her family and her church, and was a foundational member of the Louisville Baptist Temple and current member of South Jefferson Baptist Church. Those who knew Mamaw Bratcher will miss her smile, her laughter, her powerful prayers and her constant reminder to 'look up." She was anxious to go to a place called Heaven, now her home. She is survived by her faithful children, Eddie L. Bratcher Jr. (Doris) and Dianna Carver (Richard Sr.); five grandchildren, Richard Carver Jr. (Stephanie), Trina Henn (Steve); Cindy Wilson (Greg), Marla Sanders (Chris) and Deanna Boone (Tim); 11 great-grandchildren, Tyler Henn, Austin Carver (Elizabeth Corin), Matthew Armstrong, Zachary Wilson, Marcus Armstrong, Megan Sanders, Jessica Carver, Garrett Wilson, Morgan Sanders, Kirstie Henn and Matthew Sanders; and her only surviving brother, RC Curtis (Sarah), who she cherished. Her niece, Wanda Murphy, was her caregiver and will always hold a special place in our hearts. We are eternally thankful for the staff at Park Terrace and Dawn Masternick, MD, who guided her care, and for the friends and family who supported her during this journey. Her life's hope was grounded in this scripture: "His Lord said unto him, 'Well done, thou good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things; Enter thou into the joy of thy Lord,'" (Matthew 25:21 KJV). The celebration of her life memorial visitation will be held noon-8 p.m. Monday with a service beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., with burial at Bethany Cemetery.
