Martha M. Mobley, 69, of Irwinville, died Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton.
Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Monday, March 24, 2014, at Big Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne McCrimmon officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Ms. Mobley was born July 7, 1944 in Irwin County, to H.M. McSwain and the late Jennett Giddens McSwain. She graduated from Irwin County High School and was a leather crafter. She returned to the community in 1996 having lived in Spartanburg, South Carolina for many years. She was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son: Dennis & Susan Mobley and a granddaughter: Sydney Mobley, all of Gold Hill, NC; her father: H.M. McSwain of Irwinville; two sisters: Susan Hyde of Irwinville and Harriet & Everett Sheffield of Warner Robins; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a son: David Mobley; a sister: Ellen McSwain; and a brother-in-law: Roy Hyde.
