Obituary

Mary E. Minicozzi, 69, of Scranton, passed away Thursday, March 6, at Geisinger Community Medical Center with her son, Louis, and his wife, Kathy, at her side.

Born on April 9, 1944, in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late state Rep. Robert and Mary Cordier. She attended Scranton Technical High School and worked primarily in the restaurant service industry for many years, while also studying and working in interior design, her true passion. She was very creative and enjoyed doing crafts during retirement.

She is survived by her son, Louis Minicozzi and wife, Kathy, of Las Vegas, Nev.; her older brother, Robert Cordier Jr., his wife, Julia, and their daughters, Julie, Wendy and Sylvia; and her younger brothers, Richard and James Cordier. She was preceded in death by her half-brother, Dayton Cordier and his wife, Ceil.

The family wishes to thank all of Mary's friends for their support and friendship, with special recognition to Susan Rabender for her help during Mary's final months. They would also like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Geisinger CMC and Riverside Rehab for their compassionate care.

A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family, and Mary will be laid to rest in Las Vegas, Nev., where her son and daughter-in-law reside.
