David A. Helm, 82 of 154 Eight Lots Rd. died Friday in UMASS Memorial Medical Center Belmont St. Campus Worcester after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 54 years Ann M. (Lynch) Helm, a son, William D. Helm of Worcester, several nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester son of August and Ann (Hammarstrom) Hjelm. He graduated from Commerce High School, Clark University, and Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania. He was a army veteran of WW II.

He was a teacher at Oxford High School for many years before retiring several years ago.

He was an avid photographer and gardener. He was a member of the Retired Massachusetts Teachers Association.

A Funeral will be held Monday (March25) from Fay Brothers Funeral Home 9 Hammond St. Worcester (www.faybrothers.com) with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. John's Church 40 Temple St. Worcester. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery Worcester. Calling Hours are Sunday (March24) from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
