Obituary

Carol Cain Farrington, 49, resident of Naples, Florida and Marion, Massachusetts died Thursday, October 28, 2004 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston after a brief illness.

Carol was a graduate of the State University of New York at Binghamton, Harpur College. She received masters degrees with honors in Journalism and English Literature from Columbia University. Carol's first love was her children to whom she devoted most of her time. She reviewed literature for various newspapers, including the New York Times, the Boston Globe, and the Miami Herald. She was the founder of the Naples Literary Society and co-founder of the Gulf Shore Literary Society and served on the steering committee of the Florida Center for the Book. Carol also served as an advisor and editor on several book projects and was working on a manuscript of her own.

She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Stephen H. Farrington, and by her loving children, Caroline, William, and Breene; her mother, Rita G. Cain; her brothers, James and Richard Cain; her sisters, Kathryn Meighan and Leslie Macina; her grandchildren, Charlotte and Caroline Wesson; and her nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Monday November 1, 2004 at 11 AM at St. Gabriel's Church, 124 Front Street, Marion, Massachusetts.
