Obituary

HALIFAX - William J. Farrell, 82, of Halifax, formerly of Somerville, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004, at Tremont Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in Wareham after a period of failing health.

Born, raised and educated in Somerville, he was the son of the late William and Annie Mae (McLean) Farrell.

He was a U.S. Army Air Corp. World War II veteran, where he served in the South Pacific as a Tail Gunner.

Mr. Farrell was retired from M.C.I. Bridgewater, where he worked as a correction's officer for 28 years.

He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and New England Patriot's fan.

He is survived by his sisters, Elizabeth McLean of Norwood, Dolly Piercey of North Reading and Annie Mae Crawford of Malden. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was brother to the late Jean Moody.

His funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Wales-Prophett Funeral Home, 35 Spring St. East Bridgewater.

Visiting hours Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
