Obituary

Anna M. (Brennan) Cotter, 88 of Franklin died March 17 in the Benchmark Senior Living Center in Franklin. She was the wife of James Cotter.
Born in Peabody, May 6, 1925, the daughter of the late James and Dorothy (Noone) Brennan, Mrs. Cotter was raised in Peabody and had lived in Dedham Medfield and Bellingham prior to moving to Franklin in 2012.
A home maker, Mrs. Cotter had worked for many years at the Dedham Adult Education Program. During World War II she was a volunteer for the Red Cross. She had been an active volunteer for the Auxiliary for the Mentally Ill in Medfield, the Medfield Garden Club, and the Medfield Bowling League.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Jim Cotter and his wife Diane of Franklin, Rich Cotter and his wife Nancy of Foxborough, JoAnn Robinson and her husband Milo of Charlottesville, Virginia, and David Cotter and his wife Lori of Millville.
She is also survived by her sister Marguerite Mahoney of Gilmanton, New Hampshire. She was the sister of the late John Brennan, Mary Chisholm Hanson and Billy Brennan.
She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday March 22 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street Franklin at 9:15 followed by a funeral mass in St. Mary’s Church, Franklin at 10:00.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lynn.
Calling hours will be on Friday from 4-8.
