Obituary

Jerome G. Salvatore, 83, of Johnston, died Saturday, March 15, 2014 at North Bay Manor in Smithfield. He was the husband of the late Marie E. (Lentini) Salvatore.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Alfred and Assunta (Bellino) Salvatore. He lived in Johnston for many years previously living in Providence.
Jerome was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. Prior to his retirement, he worked for the State of Rhode Island, Department of Human Services. He had been co-owner of the Oaklawn Hardware Store and a salesman for the former Manna-Hoffman Stores. He loved bowling and baseball, NY Yankees and anything aviation related. He was also an avid stamp collector.
He is survived by his sister Anna Chace of Smithfield, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was the brother of the late Rudolph and Giuseppe Salvatore, Sylvia Manna and Rosalie Tamburrino.

His funeral will be held Thursday at 9am from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville, RI. Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Mary’s Church, 538 Broadway, Providence. Burial in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation Wednesday 5-7pm.
