Obituary

Maurice H. Cartier, 66, of Woonsocket died Thursday morning at Miriam Hospital in Providence. He was the loving husband of Henrietta M. (Charpentier) Cartier. They were married on September 25, 1982.
Born in Woonsocket he was a son of the late Arphidase and Edouardina (Latour) Cartier. He was a lifelong resident of the city.
Mr. Cartier was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam era.
Maurice was employed as a fabric and material cutter for a number of firms including Rex Corp., Mayflower Textiles, Anthony Roberts and the Franklin Mills stores.
Maurice was a member of the St. Joseph Veterans Association and the B.P.O. E. Lodge # 850 in Woonsocket. He was a talented interior decorator and enjoyed sewing.
In addition to his wife of 32 years he is survived by two sons Maurice and Andre Cartier and a daughter Michelle Cartier all of Woonsocket. He was the brother of Paul and Marcel Cartier and the late Pauline Cartier. He is also survived by his grandchildren Nathan, Allison, Lillianna, Candie and Brittany.
His funeral will be Wednesday at 9:00 am from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Joan of Arc Church, Mendon Rd., Cumberland. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 5-8 pm.
