McKernan, John P, 82, a 48 year residence of Dedham passed away on Friday, March 14, 2014
Beloved husband for 47 years of Margaret M. (Lydon). Devoted father of John and his wife Dawn, of Wilmington, NC and Robert and his wife Shira of Marlton, NJ. Grandfather of Brandon, Lilia, Marina, Ruby, Jack, and Lydon. Brother of Frank McKernan of Needham, MA.
Jack was born in Jamaica Plain on July 7, 1931 the eldest son of John and Mary. He was a1958 graduate of Boston State and received a masters degree from Boston University in 1961. Jack was an adjustment counselor in the Boston public schools and a proud Navy Veteran. He served the last 14 years as secretary of the 8Th Air Force Historical Society MA chapter.
Funeral from the George F Doherty & Sons, Wilson- Cannon Funeral Home on 456 High Street Dedham, MA. Tuesday at 8am. Funeral mass in St. Susanna Church Dedham at 9am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Monday 4-8. Interment St Joseph's Cemetery West Roxbury.
