Obituary

Michael C. Carideo, 88, of Derry, formerly of New Rochelle, NY, passed Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester. Mr. Carideo was born November 18, 1925 in the Bronx, NY and was a son of the late Julius and Anna (Spaziante) Carideo. He was raised in the Bronx and later in Mont Vernon, NY. He lived most of his life in New Rochelle, NY, prior to relocating to Derry in 1991.
Michael served during World War II in the U.S. Navy and worked for many years as a New York City bus driver with Liberty Bus Lines. After his retirement and move to NH, he enjoyed volunteering with the Westside Senior Center of Manchester, including their “Meals on Wheels” program. Michael will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Members of the family include his daughter and her husband, Marianne and Alan Gentile of Derry, his granddaughter, Jennifer Gentile, of Derry, grandson and his wife, Michael and Jill Gentile of Manchester, his great granddaughter, Emma Gentile, a sister and her husband, Irene and Clarence Tignonsini, of Yonkers, NY, as well as several nieces and nephews. Mr. Carideo was predeceased by his beloved wife of 37 years, Catherine (Plati) Carideo in 1987, by his son Julius Carideo in 2003 and by his brother Louis Carideo.
Private services are being planned by the family. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made in his name to the American Heart Association, Heart Gifts Processing Center, PO Box, 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220.
