Mrs. Matilde C. Perez, formerly of Raynham, died Thursday, March 13 in Marian Manor, Taunton, following a period of failing health. She was born 90 years ago in Las Villas, Cuba, the daughter of the late Augustin and Caridad Perez. She was educated in Cuba and moved to the United States in the 1950’s, becoming a U.S. citizen a number of years ago. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as a laundress at Beth Israel Hospital, Boston. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Matilde formerly attended St. Ann’s Church and The Father’s Church, both of Raynham, and Jericho Church in Middleboro.
She leaves: 1 son: Diosdado Simo and his wife, Maria of Port Charlotte, Fla.; 1 daughter: Julia Keene and her husband, Michael of Berkley, Ma.; 6 grandchildren: Andrew Fiallo, James Seddon, Caitlin Seddon, George Simo, Remiggio Simo and Veronica Carasquillo; her great granddaughters: Celia and Alessandra Carasquillo, Kylee Fiallo, and several other great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Monday, March 17 at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow in Fox Cemetery, Berkley. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Visiting Hour will precede the Service, Monday, from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M.
