Antoinette (Franzosa) Cerra, a 13 year resident of Rowley and former longtime resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at the Sea View Nursing home in Rowley following an extended illness. She was 92 years old.
Antoinette was born in Boston on October 4, 1921, a daughter of the late Angelo Franzosa and Maria Grazia (Simone) Franzosa. She grew up in the North End of Boston for a short time before her family moved to Charlestown where she was educated in the Boston Public School system. Antoinette was a homemaker most of her adult life and cherished the love and care she was able to give to her husband, children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards.
Antoinette is the beloved wife of the late Francis W. Cerra. She is the devoted mother of Frances Demeule of Florida, Grace Bonsang of Arizona, Linda Dinisman of Boxford, Anthony Cerra of North Andover, Darlene Roundy of Rowley and Deborah Daley of Rowley. She is the loving Nonnie to 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She is the beloved sister of Frank Franzosa of Malden, Mary Centrella of Stoneham, Michael Franzosa of Mashpee, Domenic Franzosa of Everett and Patrick Franzosa of Reading. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Antoinette's Funeral on Monday, March 17, 2014 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, March 16, 2014 from 2 to 6 P.M. in the funeral home.
