John F. Maffa, Jr. of Medford died Monday in the Woodbriar of Wilmington. Born and raised in Cambridge, he was the son of the late John F. Sr. and Angela (Dibella) Maffa. He was a resident of Medford since 1960, working as an Operations Manager in the pharmaceutical industry.
John was the beloved husband of Phyllis (Rondilone) and the devoted father of John F. Maffa III and his wife Diane of Reading, Robert J. Maffa and his wife Susan of Easton, Philip M. Maffa and his wife Ruth of Lexington, Michael J. Maffa and his wife Ronnie of Boxborough. He was the loving grandfather of Amanda, Matthew, Daniel, Benjamin, Anna, Samuel, and Joseph. John was the brother of Frank J. Maffa and his wife Katherine, James M. Maffa and his wife Elaine, all of Medford, Pauline Halvorsen and her husband Richard of Nashua, NH.
A funeral will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Friday, March 14 at 9:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4 through 8 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
