Obituary

Anthony M. “Tony” Fortini of Stoneham, formerly of Somerville passed away on Monday October 25, 2004 at Winchester Hospital. He was 86 years of age.

Born in Somerville, Anthony was the loving son of the late Adolpha Fortini and Emma (Salvi) Fortini. Anthony was a loving and caring son, husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He will be missed by all.

Anthony was the dedicated owner of Fortini’s Service Station in Somerville. He had a passion for his work. Anthony was a loyal member of the Somerville Lions Club, Elks and the Dante Club. During World War II, Anthony proudly served our country in the United States Marines Corps.

Anthony was the beloved husband of Helen W. (White) Fortini and the late Anita M. (DiFranco) Fortini. He was the devoted father of Robert A. Fortini and his wife Katheryne of Medford. Anthony was the cherished grandfather of Franklin Bartlett and his wife Melissa of Stoneham and Anita Jane Fortini of Medford. He was the loving great grandfather of Dorothy Rose and Zoe Katheryne. Anthony is also survived by his sister Ann Lazzaro of Stoneham and his brother Joseph Fortini and his wife Caroline of Stow. Anthony was the dear uncle of Paul V. Perani of Stoneham.

Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Saturday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Patrick’s Church 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours Friday 3-7pm. Parking attendants will be on duty. Interment St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Stoneham.
