A. Robert “Bobby” Baggetta 77 of Methuen passed away on Monday, March 10, 2014 surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with brain cancer at his late residence.
Bobby was born in Lawrence and was the son of the late Nicola and Anna (Marino) Baggetta. He was a graduate of Lawrence High School. Upon his graduation from Lawrence High School, Bobby joined the United States Marine Corps in 1955. Following his service to his country, Bobby worked for Wise Potato Chips and Pepsi Co. He then owned and operated Eileen’s Variety Store on Prospect St. in Methuen for several years. He retired as a building and grounds forman for the Greater Lawrence Sanitary District.
He was a life member and administrator of the Knights of Columbus, Council 4027 in Methuen, a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. Bobby had a deep passion for his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed cooking and gardening and is known for his homemade Italian sausage.
Mr. Baggetta was formerly married to Eileen (DeLotto) Baggetta.
Bobby will be deeply missed by his son, Nicholas Baggetta and his wife Karen of Methuen, two daughters, Cathy Hylton and her husband Ricki of Methuen and Roberta Downer and her husband Ted of Bradford, 7 grandchildren, Robert and Michael Hylton, Nicholas and Alex Baggetta and Ava, Lauren and Michael Downer and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Baggetta is predeceased by his sister Peggy Tomaselli, brother Joseph Baggetta and sister Rita Spinelli.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 10:00 AM in Corpus Christi/Holy Rosary Church of Lawrence with burial to follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery of Lawrence.
Friends will be warmly received on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen.
