Harold R. McCall, age 84, passed away on Mar 5, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Nov 25, 1929in Springfield, IL to the late William and Frances (Morgan) McCall. He was also the foster son of the late Deane and Aline Colby of Petersburg, IL. He attended Lamphear High School and served in the Air Force during WWII. Upon his discharge he entered the graphic arts industry becoming plant superintendant at F.A. Bassette Printing Co. After he completed his studies at Westfield State University he started teaching graphic arts at Chicopee High School until his retirement in 1995. He leaves his loving wife of 64 years Loretta (Laramee) McCall of Chicopee; one daughter Anne-Marie Hutchinson of Chicopee and her children Scott and Kristi; one son Michael J. McCall and his wife Catherine of East Longmeadow and their children Barbara and John; one sister Catherine “Betty” Marcy and her husband Donald of Spfld, IL; one sister in law Blanche McCall of Spfld, IL; three Great grandchildren Kaylee Ayn, Scott and Matthew and also his faithful dog and companion Anna, always at his side. He was predeceased by one brother E. Wayne McCall. The family would like to thank the staff at Mercy Care and Hospice for their tremendous care, the staff at the Dialysis Center of Western Mass f or their unending support, especially “Dorinda”, who walked daily by his side as he journeyed forward and also to Gerard and Dan for their unconditional love and support. Family Services will be held on Mon., Mar 10, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the Grise Funeral Home 280 Springfield St. Chicopee with burial to follow with military honors at the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. Calling Hours will be held the morning of the funeral from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
