Maria Urania (Faria) Moniz, 91, passed away Friday, March 7, 2014 at the Overlook Healthcare in Charlton. She was the wife of the late Manuel Moniz who died in 1959.
Maria leaves behind a son, John M. Moniz and his wife Odete of Dudley, 2 grandchildren and their spouses, 4 great grandchildren, a brother; Firmo Faria of Taunton, and a sister; Adrianna Piques of Portugal.
She was born in Sao Miguel Acores, Portugal, a daughter of Manuel and Maria Gloria (Goveia) Faria and came to the United States in 1974.
Maria was a homemaker , but also assisted her family at their business and was known as the ‘Muffin Lady”.
Calling hours for Maria will be Monday, March 10, 2014 from 5PM to 9PM at the ROBERT J. MILLER FUNERAL HOME and LAKE CHAPEL, 366 School St., Webster.
Maria’s Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 10 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 24 Dudley Hill Rd., Dudley followed by entombment at Notre Dame Cemetery & Mausoleum in Worcester.
