Ventura

Edna Rodriguez, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully at home on March 4, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was an elder member of local area Chumash Indian communities.

Edna was born in Ventura on April 25, 1924 to Lewis Lymon and Edna Luisa McLean. She lived many years and began her family at Faria Ranch (Rincon) prior to returning to Ventura. She took an active interest in raising her many grandchildren, whom she cared for as her own children. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and was especially proud of her work as Parent Advisor with the Ventura Unified Schools Indian Education Program, along with Mr. Floyd Beller.

She is survived by her children Carol and Mike Pulido Jr. of Oak View, Edward and Grace Rodriguez, Rachel Rodriguez all of Ventura. She is survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren for whom she held a special place in her heart. She is survived also by her sister Pat Leavens of Seattle, sister-in-law Pat McLean and family and Banuelos-Juarez Family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Philip A. Rodriguez, son Raymond Rodriguez (October 2013), brother Sonny McLean and dear friends Juanita Graham and Mrs. Vera Gray.

Rosary Vigil Services will be held at 6:30PM Monday March 10, 2014 in the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME 757 E. Main Street Ventura. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10AM Tuesday March 11, 2014 in the Old Mission San Buenaventura.
