Obituary

Joseph J. Catrambone, age 94, of Brockton, died Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. Joe was the husband for 70 years of Doris M. (Bonamici) Catrambone. Lifelong of Brockton, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Rosa (Buccina) Catrambone. Joe attended Brockton schools and had been employed as a Stone Mason for many years, and for over ten years was employed by the City of Brockton, Building Department. He was an Army Veteran of World War II, and served with the 473rd Infantry Regiment in the European Theater. He was a longtime member the Bricklayers Union, Conte Club, Bertocci Club and Club National. Joe was an avid golfer and enjoyed years of golf at DW Field Golf Course. He also enjoyed bowling and playing cards. His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren in the family’s summer home in West Harwich.

In addition to his wife Doris, he is survived by two daughters Dolores Sullivan of Raynham and Paula Anderson of Whitman; two grandchildren Tracy Briggs and her husband Kevin and Mark Bissett and his wife Dawn; three great grandchildren Victoria Bissett, Collin Briggs and Cassidy Briggs and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Barbara Lehane, Julia Celadonio, and Mary St. John.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Sunday 2-4pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Monday at 8am for a Funeral Mass in Christ the King Parish at 9am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
