SALEM: Ruth B. (Rhoades) Bartnicki, 76, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away at Salem Hospital surrounded by her loving family on March 1, 2014.
Born in Salem on October 20, 1937, she was the beloved daughter of the late Theodore and Anna (Hanley) Rhoades. She was a graduate of Beverly High School and resided in Beverly for many years before moving to Salem thirty-six years ago.
She recently retired from Marshalls in Danvers after forty years of employment. She enjoyed short trips with her husband to Foxwoods Casino and Atlantic City. She also cherished her time spent with family and friends, and had a true appreciation for the simple things in life. She will be dearly missed and remembered by all who knew her.
Ruth is survived by her loving husband of fifty-eight years, Edward W. Bartnicki; two daughters, Karen J. Bartnicki and Wendy L. Ventura and her husband, Richard J.; one son, Edward "Nick" Bartnicki, Jr.; son- in law, Kenyon C. Burch, seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Loretta Kincaid and Gail Turino; two brothers, Robert and John Rhoades and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Pamela Anne Burch .
A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot St, Beverly at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 4 - 6:30 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
