Gilford– Louis J. Mailloux, 83, died February 27, 2014 at the Lakes Regional General Hospital following a lengthy illness surrounded by his family.
He was born in Manchester on May 18, 1930 the son of Louis J. and Marie (Hebert) Mailloux and had been a resident of Manchester and more recently of Gilford.
He served in the Army National Guard of NH, He held membership in the Henry J. Sweeney Post #2 and was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus. He was a former parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Parish.
Prior to his retirement he had been employed by Duclos Auto Body.
Members of his family include his wife of 62 years, Therese (Proulx) Mailloux of Gilford, 2 daughters Irene K. Blouin and her husband Paul of Gilford, Yvette S. Mailloux of Laconia, 1 grandson, Brent Blouin and his wife Christine, 2 great-grandchildren, Kendra and Kaden Blouin, his twin brother Robert J. Mailloux of Manchester, 1 sister Doris O’Neil of Holliston, MA and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 PM at the J.N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St., Manchester.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 AM in St. Anthony Church, 172 Belmont St., Manchester. Committal prayers will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
