Ernest G. Caron, 89, of Rochester died October 24, 2004 at New Bedford Health Care Center after a long illness.
He was the husband of the late Yvonne (Lavoie) Caron.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Rene and Ida (Moreau) Caron, he lived in New Bedford most of his life before moving to Rochester in 1973.
He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in Rochester.
Mr. Caron was the proprietor of Ernie's Barber Shop on Brock Ave. in New Bedford. He was proud of being a 3rd generation barber.
Mr. Caron was a founding member and past president of the New Bedford Fishing Club.
Survivors include a son, Robert Caron, and his wife Elizabeth, of Dartmouth; a daughter, Suzanne Porte, and her husband James, of Marshfield, MA; 5 grandchildren, Lisa Caron, Thomas Caron, John Caron, Michelle Travis and Andrew Porte; 4 great-grandchildren, William Caron, Zachary Travis, Matthew Travis and Bryan Travis.
He was the brother of the late Joseph Leo Caron.
