Assunta (Giuliani) Masci, 91, passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Woburn Nursing Center on Friday, February 28. Born in Italy, she was the daughter of the late Maria-Cristina (Bianchi) and Giovanni Giuliani. She came to America in 1956 on the SS Andria Doria and lived in Somerville until 2011.
Assunta was the devoted wife of the late Roberto Masci and beloved mother of Ivo Masci and his wife Ida of Somerville, Vera Couras and her husband Robert of Arlington, Maria-Cristina Pascuccio and her husband Mario of Woburn, Barbara Mirabello and her late husband Charles of Tewksbury, Sonia Pearsall and her husband Frank of Hillsboro, NH. She is also survived by 17 loving grandchildren and 10 loving great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Thursday, March 6 at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Benedict Church, 21 Hathorne St., Somerville, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday from 4 through 8 PM. Services will conclude with entombment at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.
