CHICOPEE – Jeannine (Leboeuf) Poirier, 72, of Chicopee and a resident of Pompano Beach, Florida was Called Safely Home on Friday, February 7, 2014. She passed into Eternal Life at her home in Chicopee surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family and her wonderful caregivers. She was born in Valleyfield, Province of Quebec, Canada on June 27, 1941, a beloved daughter of the late Paul and Mabel (Thurston) Leboeuf. She was raised in Valleyfield and attended local schools there. In 1964, she moved with her husband, Paul, to Lawrence, Massachusetts. They then came to Springfield and settled in the North End section of the city where they lived for many years. They later moved to Chicopee and Holyoke and moved to Pompano Beach in 2008. Jeannine’s greatest joy in life was being a loving wife and homemaker to her children and grandchildren. She showered her family with love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She leaves her loving husband and best friend, Paul E. Poirier. They were married on February 15, 1958 at L’Eglise Notre Dame de Bellerive in Valleyfield, Province of Quebec, Canada and were blessed with nearly 56 years of happiness together. She also leaves her three loving sons, Christian B. Poirier of Florida, Daniel P. Poirier and his wife, Ruth, of Chicopee, and Steven Poirier of Chicopee; her three cherished grandchildren, Jocelyn Poirier, Paul Poirier and Trevor Poirier; her two dear brothers, Francois Leboeuf of Malaga, Spain and Maurice Leboeuf of Valleyfield, P.Q., Canada; her dear sister, Jacqueline Paquette of Valleyfield, P.Q., Canada; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins and extended members of the Poirier and Leboeuf families. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her two dear brothers, Armand Leboeuf and Paul Leboeuf. Funeral services are private and there are no visiting hours.
