Obituary

HELEN (HOWARD) CHAMBERLAIN, a lifelong resident of Hingham, died on Thursday, Oct. 21st at her Hingham home after a long illness; the same home where she was born 83 years ago. During World War II, she worked at the Hingham Shipyard and later, with several partners, founded the well known real estate firm of Hingham Center, Ltd.Mrs. Chamberlain was an active member of the Second Parish Church in Hingham,and hosted not only American Field Service students at her home but also international students invited by M.I.T. from countries around the globe.She leaves her husband, Eugene R. Chamberlain of Hingham and was the mother of Elizabeth C. Habich of North Reading, Richard R. Chamberlain of Hingham and Anne H. Tuite of Shrub Oak, NY. She was the sister of the late Edward R. Howard, the late Leavitt Howard, the late Carol H. Robinson and the late Anne Howard. Also survived by 3 grandchildren.A Memorial Service will be conducted on Saturday, Nov. 13th at 2 PM at the Second Parish Church, 685 Main St., Hingham, MA 02043Visiting hours and flowers omitted by request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Hospice of the South Shore, P.O. Box 859060, Braintree, MA02085-9060 or to the Second Parish Church.The interment is to be private.
