Mr. Dennis J. McGrath, of Taunton, died Wednesday, February 26 in Morton Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Laurel J. (Duarte) McGrath. He was born 73 years ago in Fall River, the son of the late Thomas McGrath and Marguerite (Burns) McGrath Crosby. He was educated in Taunton, having graduated from Taunton High School, Class of 1959, and had attended Johnson and Wales College in Providence, R.I. Dennis was a lifelong resident of Taunton. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as a sales representative for Unilever for 30 years. He was previously employed as a sales representative for W.H. Riley and Son, Inc. for 12 years. He was a Life Member and past Trustee of the Taunton Lodge of Elks, a Life Member of the Portuguese-American Civic Club, and a member of the Italian Naturalization Club and the Italian Social Club. He enjoyed gambling, camping, and was an avid New England sports fan.
In addition to his wife, he leaves: 1 son: Paul D. McGrath of Stoughton; 2 sisters: Susan McGrath of Attleboro and Gail Williams and her husband, Albert of Homosassa, Fla.; his sister-in-law: Diane McGrath of Taunton; 1 nephew: Michael McGrath and his wife, Amanda; 2 nieces: Virginia Sylvia and Kelly Lozinski; 1 grandnephew: Eric J. Sylvia, Jr., and 1 grandniece: Holly Leonard. Dennis was also the brother of the late Neil McGrath.
Funeral services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Visiting Hours are respectfully omitted. Arrangements are under the direction of The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home of Taunton.
