Joseph Lamar Medley, 89, passed away Thursday February 27, 2014 at Jefferson Manor Nursing Home.
He was born in Garrett, KY to William Joseph & Lillian (Burnette) Medley.
Joseph was a retired Field Supt. for Bornstein Construction Co., a Combat Medic WW II Army Veteran and was awarded the Bronze Star.
He was a Scoutmaster for 19 years and founder of Viking Canoe Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his loving wife of 47 years, Mary Frances (Robinson) Medley and his 2nd wife: Margaret Frymire; 2 Sisters: Helen Solar & Joyce Brown; a Brother: G. D. Medley.
Survivors include his children: Gary Medley (Sharon), Teri Skipworth (Bill), Mark Medley (Lena), Tim Medley (Teresa) and Kelli Bisig.
16 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren; 2 Brothers: Randall (JoAnne) and James Medley (Betty Jo); a Sister: Mary Jo Brown (Anthony).
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated 2:00 PM Sunday at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 440 St. Martins Rd., Flaherty, KY 40175, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday 3 – 8 PM at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy.
