Mrs. Effie B. (Pappas) Brickman a resident of Andover for the past fourteen years, formerly of Boston and the beloved wife of Stephen A. Brickman, died at the Lawrence General Hospital in Friday evening, February 21, 2014. She was 52 years old. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, on March 4, 1961, she was the beloved daughter of Alexandra (Tselios) and the late William Pappas. Mrs. Brickman was a graduate of Suffolk University in Boston, where she earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees. Effie was a wonderful wife and mother. She selflessly put her family's and friends' needs before her own. Effie was not only a sympathetic ear to others, she would quietly and quite naturally do for those in need of assistance and comfort without having to be asked. She will be very dearly missed.
In addition to her beloved husband, Stephen and loving mother, Alexandra, Effie is survived by her children; Alexander E. and Elizabeth M. Brickman of Andover, brothers; Paul, and his wife Linda Pappas of Methuen and Angelo Pappas of Boston and many nieces and nephews. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sts. Constantine & Helen Church, 71 Chandler Road, Andover on Friday, February 28, 2014, at 10 am. Calling hours will be held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover on Thursday, February 27, 2014, from 4 to 8 pm. Interment will be held in West Parish Garden Cemetery in Andover.
