William Douglas Stephens

William Douglas Stephens, 93, formerly of Anderson died at Hope Hospice in Fort Myers, FL February 17, 2014 after an extended illness.
He was born in Anderson, January 27, 1921 to William Harold and Carrie Eva (Stanley) Stephens, graduating from Anderson High School in 1940.
He served in the US Army during WW II.
He was a tool & die maker also farmed and raced standard bred horses.
He was a member of Ovid Masonic Lodge # 164.
Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Emma Louise (Lambert) Stephens of Ft. Myers, FL; two sons, William Terry (Wendy) Stephens; David Lee (Cynthia) Stephens; four grandchildren William Randy Stephens (fiancée Sherrie); Danny Lee (Susan) Stephens; Cynthia Lee (Stephens) husband Tony Mills; Sandra Kay (Stephens) husband Tom Karr; nine great grandchildren, Krissie; Jonathan; Cory; Cortney; Dustin; Joshua; Richie; Ryan and Kaitlin; brother, James Francis (Rosemary) Stephens; sister-in-law, Barbara Stephens; several nieces and nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Lloyd Neal Stephens and sister, Wanda Murle (Stephens) Cannon.
Service is 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service
with Pastor Gordon Barrett of White Union Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery with Military graveside rites by VFW Post 266 Honor Guard. Visitation will be 9 AM until the 11 AM service with Masonic services conducted by Ovid Lodge # 164 at 10:45 A.M. Sat. at the funeral home.
