Frank “Franco” Catania, 54 of Provincetown died unexpectedly on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at his home.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of Frank and Pauline (Loiacono) Catania. Frank attended local schools in New York and graduated with the Class of 1977 from Brentwood High School. After living in a few locations, Frank found a home in Provincetown. He moved here permanently over 20 years ago.
Frank worked as local artist specializing in jewelry. He often could be seen selling his creations on the lawn of the UU Church or in his store, Art to Die For in Whalers Wharf. As a member of the Provincetown community, Frank volunteered at the Soup Kitchen in Provincetown and the Aids Support Group.
Franco is survived by his Mother, Pauline (Loiacona) Catania and his sisters Laura Fontana of Seely, Texas and Carrie Meehan and her husband Mike of Medford New York. He was predeceased by his Brother Joseph just twelve days earlier. Additionally, he is survived by many nieces and nephews.
