Worcester, MA - Francis M. St. Hilaire, 86, passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, February 17, 2014, at UMASS Memorial Medical Center - University Campus. He leaves his wife, Barbara (Niemiec) St. Hilaire; 5 daughters, Wendy Dinsmore of Wilmington, Jody St. Hilaire of NV, Lori Lampro of NH, Suzanne Sprague of Centerville, and Tina Dorchester of West Yarmouth; 8 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by a brother, David E. St. Hilaire.
Francis was born in Cambridge, son of the late David E. and Ethel (Steward) St. Hilaire. He graduated from Reading High School, proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII, and worked for many years as a master laundry professional for Royal Institutional Services. He enjoyed traveling, running in marathons, playing the drums, and big band music.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Autism Resource Center of Central Mass, 71 Sterling St., West Boylston, MA 01583.
