Dorothy E. Beauregard, 83, of New Bedford died October 20, 2004 at home surrounded by her family after a brief illness.
She was the wife of the late Lucien J. Beauregard.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late Michael J. and Margaret (Alwill) Dempsey, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.
She was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church where she was a Eucharistic minister and a member of St. Julie's Ladies Guild.
Mrs. Beauregard was formerly employed as a secretary at the New Bedford Housing Authority for many years until her retirement. She previously worked in the mayors office at New Bedford City Hall.
Mrs. Beauregard was a USO singer during World War II.
She volunteered at LaSallette Shrine and enjoyed being with her family, classical music and the mountains of New Hampshire.
Survivors include a son, James E. Beauregard, and his wife Margo, of New Bedford; a sister, Margaret O'Connor of Long Island, NY; a grandson, Joshua of New Bedford; several cousins and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late James Dempsey.
