Michael Victor Sartori of Cape Cod and Boston, passed away on February 18, 2014. He was 66 years old.
Michael was a loving husband and devoted father, a gentleman and a mentor. His family will miss his intellectual curiosity and sense of humor.
Michael leaves behind his wife, Linda (Ganino) Sartori, and his daughters, Christina Sartori and Alicia Sartori, his brother, Louis Sartori and wife, Judy, his brother Thomas Sartori and wife, Sara, and many wonderful nieces, nephews, and their children. His mother, Emma Faini Sartori, and father, Louis Sartori of Framingham predeceased him.
A memorial service was held March 15, 2014 at Crossroads Community Church, 1341 Edgell Road, Framingham.
Michael graduated from Boston College where his passion for social justice was nurtured. His post graduate studies at University of Connecticut furthered his studies in government and is where he met his wife of 41 years. As an analyst and manager in the Energy Division and in the Office of the State Comptroller, Michael proudly served the State of Connecticut where he maintained many friendships. As a strong believer in the labor movement, Michael held the office of First Vice President, 1989-93 and President, 1993-1999 of the Administrative and Residual Employees Union. After retiring, Michael and his wife moved to Cape Cod where he worked at the Housing Assistance Corporation and became active in the Dennis Democratic Town Committee.
Boston was a special place for Michael. He and his family enjoyed attending Red Sox games, BC sporting events, the opera, museums, and just walking around exploring. He was an avid collector, voracious reader, model shipbuilder, and Christmas story writer and illustrator. He was a second generation participant of the Framingham Heart Study.
The family would like to thank the spirited and “human first” nurses, doctors, and support staff of the oncology ward of Beth Israel Deaconess.
