WAYLAND: Ellen Linder Simoneau, 78, died peacefully in the comfort and care of her family at her residence on Sunday, February 16, 2014 following a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
She was born in Boston on March 14, 1935 the daughter of the late John F. Linder and Ellen G. (Percy) Linder. Ellen spent her formative years in Weston and graduated from Weston High School. She has been a resident of Wayland for over 48 years. For many years she was the Office Manager for IEP, an environmental firm in Northborough, and then Earth Tech in Concord, MA. She enjoyed modeling for various commercials and clothing companies. She devoted her life to her family and friends and was always willing to put others before herself. Ellen was a willing listener to those who needed a kind word and encouragement. Her compassion for others was exemplified in many ways, such as helping those in a divorce recovery group. She was also a strong supporter of alternative medicine. Her faith in Jesus Christ and belief in his power was evident in her life and instilled in her family.
Ellen is survived by her devoted husband Bruce E. Simoneau of Wayland. Loving mother of Cheryl Forsyth and her husband Ron of Stevens, PA; Tanya Puniskis and her husband John of Oxford; Matthew Ide and his wife Beth of Hollis, NH; David Ide of Wayland; Therese Morrice and her husband George of Mendon; Julie Alexopoulos and her husband Peter of Norwood and Suzanne Bridges of Braintree. Sister of Maude Schjetnan of Alvin, TX; Ruth Hines of Raleigh, NC; John Linder of Sandy Hook, CT and David Linder of Wells Point, TX. Also survived by 22 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitations will be held on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Wayland.
Her funeral services will be held on Friday at 10 o’clock at First Baptist Church of Sudbury, followed by burial in Lakeview Cemetery in Wayland.
