Obituary

WEARE – Theresa L. Swain, 81, of 882 Concord Stage Road, died Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Concord Hospital.

She was born on September 28, 1932 in Laconia, the daughter of Noel and Marie Rose (Caron) Runnals. Theresa grew up in Laconia, NH and was a graduate of Villa Augustina Catholic School for Girls in Goffstown, NH. In 1950, Theresa married her love of 63 years, “Gus”, where they built a beautiful life together in Belmont, NH. Theresa was employed at Laconia Hospital and was the Owner & Operator of “Swain’s Market”, with her husband and children, in Laconia. Upon retirement, Theresa relocated to Weare, NH, where she dedicated herself to spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and pets, (Mable and Pumpkin), as well as her life passion for quilting and gardening. Her smile and amazing grace will forever be missed by many.


She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Malcolm Swain Sr. of Weare, eight children; Malcolm Swain Jr. of Plymouth, Caron Beard of Gray, Maine, Charon Duranaleau of Lebanon, Terry Swain of Plymouth, Liberte Dragon of Warner, Jonathan Swain of Hopkinton, Laura Pillsbury of Springfield and Jerry Baron of North Berwick, Maine; nineteen grandchildren, Trisha Hurd, Cristy Wisell, Molly McCutcheon, Abbey Beard, Jeff Paine, Sarah Paine, Elizabeth Swain, Adam Dragon, Joseph Dragon, Greg Dragon, Robert Sprague, Nichole Swain, Jeremy Baron, Eric Baron, Tonya Baron, Megan Cormier, Paige Wyatt, Katlyn Wyatt and Connor Pillsbury; twenty great grandchildren; one brother, Noel Runnals, of Laconia and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial calling hours will be held from 6PM to 8PM on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, using the Carriage House entrance. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 Noon on Friday, February 21, 2014 at St. Andre Bessette Parish at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia.

Burial will be held in the family lot in South Road Cemetery, Belmont, in the spring.
