FRAMINGHAM: Peter H. Corliss, 75, died peacefully under to care and comfort of his daughter on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at his residence following a long illness.
He was born in Boston on August 2, 1938 the son of the late Haviland O. Corliss and Corinne M. (Benoit) Corliss.
Peter is survived by his beloved daughters Cindy L. Corliss of Scotland, United Kingdom and Jennifer A. Shea of Framingham with whom he resided. Cherished grandfather of Stephanie and Kathleen Shea both of Framingham. Brother of Deborah L. (Corliss) Hottleman and her husband Girard Hottleman of Framingham. Uncle of Michael G. Hottleman of Gloucester, He was the devoted husband for 42 years of the late Linda Louise (Bracken) Corliss who died in March of 2011.
Peter has been a resident of Framingham for over 40 years and spent his formative years in Newton and was a graduate of Newton High School with the Class of 1956. He served his country as an Airman First Class with the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He retired in 1999 after over 30 years of dedicated service as a Foreman for Fowler Instruments in Auburndale. He loved the New England Patriots and was a collector of sports cards and memorabilia. He was an avid movie watcher and enjoyed sci-fi and British films. For over 20 years he delighted in having a table at the Grafton Flea Marker. He was devoted to his children and adored time spent with his granddaughters. He also loved animals especially his cat, Friendly, who was always at his side.
Visitations will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Wayland.
His funeral services will be held in the Bryant Memorial Chapel of the funeral home on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 10:00 o’clock.
Interment will follow in the Corliss family lot in Edgell Grove Cemetery, Framingham.
In lieu of flowers his family suggests that memorial gifts in his memory may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
