Manchester– Genevieve “Jennie” M. St. Gelais, 89, died February 14, 2014 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack following a brief illness.
She was born in Manchester on January 17, 1925 the daughter of Delphis and Odiana (Gagnon)
St. Gelais. She was educated in local schools and had been a lifelong resident of this city.
Prior to her retirement she had been employed as a first line supervisor for Sylvania.
She was an avid golfer and played until 2013 and was a longtime member of the Intervale County Club. She loved playing cards, bowling and was a skier in her younger years and a world traveler.
Members of her family include 2 brothers, Maurice M. St. Gelais of Manchester and Louis A. St. Gelais and his wife Cecile of Laconia a sister-in-law Mary St. Gelais of Gilford, and several nieces, nephews,cousins and many friends. She was predeceased by 3 brothers Florien, Marcel and Lionel St. Gelais.
Calling hours will be Saturday from 8:30 to 10:30 AM at the J.N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday February 22nd at 11:00 AM in St. Hedwig Church, Beech St.. Committal prayers will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel.
