Mrs. Celia (Ferullo) Barletta passed away peacefully in the company of her loving family at her Medford home and in her 102nd year.
Celia was born and raised in East Boston the daughter of the late Giovanni and Teresa (Colucci) Ferullo. A Medford resident for many years, She worked as a seamstress in her younger years and then devoted herself to her family. In her later years she assisted senior citizens with home care as part of the inter-city outreach program. A good spirited person, Celia enjoyed the company of her large family and friends.
The loving wife of the late Joseph P. Barletta, she was the devoted mother of Joseph A. Barletta and his wife Claire of Medford, John R. Barletta of Everett and Diane Georgelis and her husband Charles of Branson, MO. She leaves nine loving grandchildren: Margie Lattini, Joseph J Barletta, Gina Morello, Michelle Stone, Christine O'Brien, John Barletta, Susan Leary, Dina Galvez and Laurie Hutchison along with 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her loving nieces, Teresa Scrima, Annette Lebicz and many other nieces and nephews. Celia is pre deceased by her brothers Alphonse and Samuel Ferullo and sisters Antonia DiChristofaro, Phyllis Marino and Mary Catino.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Tuesday February 18th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family at the funeral home Monday 4 – 8 PM.
