Obituary

Elizabeth Mary Clare Schickel, 15, of Natick, MA, a beautiful girl filled with God's love and grace, died of brain cancer on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 in the loving embrace of her mother, father, sisters, and brother.

She is the precious daughter of Abraham J. and Kathleen Adams, she is the adored sister of Elysha K., Benedict J., Hannah M., Catherine P., Therese B., and Maria A. Schickel.

She is the cherished granddaughter of Patricia F. Tradd and her husband Ronald, of Swampscott, MA and Paul T. Adams and his wife, Sally, of Manchester, NH, and the deceased Norbert H. Schickel, Jr. and Marion Cockrell Schickel of Dryden, NY.

She is also survived by many wonderful and loving aunts and uncles and 58 cousins. She was loved in a special way by her dear Aunt Mary Fournier and her nurse, Liz Mobassaleh.

Elizabeth, known for her perpetual smile, lived a prayerful life with a remarkable sense of purpose and generosity, repeating "I love you" again and again even when she could barely speak.

She was a natural and relentless athlete, loved by her teammates and coaches and respected by her opponents for her speed, skill, and sportsmanship. She was an artist, a writer, and a voracious reader.

She loved singing with her sisters, running, swimming, canoeing, bike riding, and was a summertime explorer. Elizabeth, known as “Skinny” by many, was a girl full of life, devoted to her Catholic faith, her family, and her beloved Montrose School. She will be dearly missed by all who were touched by the beauty and enormousness of her life.

Visiting hours will be held in St. Patrick’s Church, 44 E. Central St., Natick, Monday, February 17th from 3:00-7:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will also be held in St. Patrick’s Church on Tuesday, February 18th at 10:00AM. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, 180 Pond St., Natick.

A luncheon will follow at 2:00PM at the Montrose School, Medfield, MA. Relatives & Friends respectfully invited.
