Obituary

Sudderth, Susan Elizabeth

On Saturday, February 8, 2014, Susan Elizabeth Sudderth passed away. Susan was born in Lakeland, Florida on December 14th, 1941 to Kenneth Smith and Christine Welker. She graduated from Atherton High School in 1959 and went on to attend Mary Baldwin College and the University of Louisville. Susan symbolized her dedication to Jehovah God by water baptism on June 25, 1977. In 1998, her strong faith and total reliance on Jehovah motivated her to move to a remote town in Ecuador without knowing a word of Spanish. During her 12 years in Ecuador she not only learned the language but had many wonderful experiences sharing her faith, devoting on average, about 70 hours a month in the ministry. She developed a family of friends there who will forever remember her as a source of encouragement and an example of love and compassion in imitation of Jehovah God and His Son, Christ Jesus. Susan is survived by her sons Michael Sudderth (Alex) and Richard Sudderth: her brother, Dave Smith (Ellen): her grandchildren, Anna ,Devin ,Devon, and Erin: her niece, Char Pfeiffer (Brandon): and many cousins. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 15th, 2014, at the Audubon Congregation of Jehovah’s Witness, 4239 Illinois Avenue, Louisville, KY, 40213. All are welcome.
